--2 Corinthians 1:3-7--
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort."
Two years ago today was one of the hardest days of my entire life. Today marks the anniversary of the day that my Nanny went to be in Heaven with Jesus. Many times have I written about it, trying to find comfort and peace through my words. However, it was not through my words that comfort or peace came. It was through Jesus, my Lord who became more real and more divine in my life than ever before. A pain so intense as death is hard to understand. It comes in and it steals a part of who you are. It takes from you something that may never return. When you love someone with all of who you are and then one day find them gone it is not only confusing but incredibly intense and painful.

There have only been a handful of times that I have cried over Nanny's death. This is because I feel a peace that surpasses all of my understanding concerning her Heavenly place. She was so delicate and beautiful and I am convinced that she is even more so right now. I long for the day when I can touch her pale, pretty skin and kiss her freckled cheek. However, I would never have the selfish desire to want to bring her back to this earth filled with such pain and suffering. Heaven is so much more amazing than we can even fathom and I draw strength in knowing that her pain is no longer evident. It was washed away and she is free!!! Thank God for his word and promise. Thank God for Heaven!
God longs for us to draw strength from him. He is God! He longs for us to find comfort in the shadow of his being. He pours our his love into our lives daily and we just have to allow ourselves to be open enough to receive it. God is the God of all comfort, so if today you need his strength, his guidance, his patience or his comfort...simply cry out to him. He is real and alive and hears your every need. He is a loving God. He alone can give you what you need!!!
