Christmas is in the air [[literally]]

Hi everybody! We have had an exciting and awesome weekend here in our house! My dad decided to take my mom away for the weekend since Friday was her birthday. She was reluctant to leave home, but she did and I'm glad. I hope she enjoyed herself! Since both parents were gone you can only assume that we had Jake. It was great and I'm really glad he stayed the whole weekend. He was so good and I enjoyed his company and help with the kids. He didnt fight or argue with Daniel or I at all and he was great with the kids. I could tell he was totally relaxed here and it made me feel good to know that we can give him a safe place to be when mom and dad arent with him.

Anyway, since we knew it would be a long couple of days if we had nothing to do we decided to put up our Christmas tree and decorations Friday night. I was in the mood anyway and the Christmas spirit was running high around here. Nora cant stop talking about Santa Clause coming to town and watching Dora snow princess, so we went ahead with it! It was a blast and the house looks great! I'm so glad we did it on a night that Jake could be here. One of my most treasured memories of this time of year as a child was when we would order pizza the night we put up the tree at Nanny and Pawpy's house. It made me really feel like Christmas was near. So, by all means we ordered pizza Friday night too. I hope Jake looks back and remembers that as a special memory. Here are a few pictures of decorations and of us putting up the tree. I know most of you dont care at all how my house looks, but bear in mind that most of my friends live states away from me. They care! haha...

Our finished tree!!!

The kids were still fascinated the next morning....(so cute!)

...and even after their naps that next evening...
the view from the tree...haha...
Last night Abby called and said that her and Andy had some free tickets to an ice hockey game. We were planning on taking Jake to a movie anyway but I thought the guys would enjoy hockey much better. So off they went! Sara still came over to watch the kids and I went to a movie with Jeni and Noah. It was a nice, relaxing night and Daniel said that Jake had a ball! I'm so glad...

Which brings us to this morning. The last day of November and we were expected to get a small dusting of light snow during the night. We woke up to a couple inches of beautiful, fluffy, wonderful snow! It's awesome! I made Jake close his eyes on the way downstairs and he could hardly believe them when he opened them! Nora was SO excited and apparently so was Braden although Daniel got up with him at 7 today so I wouldnt know (thanks babe). I love snow!!! The kids could hardly wait to go out and play in it so after breakfast we quickly got ready and out we went! Braden fell down over and over until he was exhausted but he liked it I think. Nora stayed outside and went sledding with Daniel and Jake for close to an hour! She came in and took a warm bath with me when she was done. Boy are they pooped!!! It was an awesome day and a great weekend! Thanks for reading and here are some snow pictures...

Oh my gosh, I loved the pictures!!! I must admit, I am actually a little jealous of the snow!!! And the Christmas decor...the only thing they do here is put lights on the palm trees (which doesn't even look right!!) and poinsettias EVERYWHERE!!! (it's the only thing they have that looks like Christmas, LOL) Anyway, your house looks beautiful, the snow looks fun, and you all look fantastic!
