updates and another recipe:)

Daniel just walked out the door for his physical test for the Decatur Police Department. If he passes the physical test, he will then take a written exam. Both of which I know he'll pass. He seems nervous but I'm praying for the peace of God to just invade his blazer on the way to his destination. I am anxious to hear how it goes. I sit here full of excitement because I cant help but wonder if this is the first day in the ultimate will of God as far as my husband's career. I know that every step we have taken until now has played a part in the big plan, but it is just as exciting to know that we are not sitting still. We are listening to God and following His direction. I know that if Daniel is supposed to get this job that they will see something different and unique in him. If he is not supposed to have it, I know the door will be closed and we'll have peace about that too. It's a great journey we're on...this living for God journey.

I know (because God has told us so) that ultimately this husband of mine [you know, the one I dont tell enough how grateful I am for him] is supposed to preach the word. In his future, he will reach hundreds by the spirit of God through his voice. I love that God doesnt put us in a box because we equally do not have Him in one. Therefore, we arent sure of the time that Daniel will preach, only waiting for that day to come and that door to open as well. And we're willing to go anywhere, and do anything in order to remain obedient to the call of God in our lives.

Today Nora was swinging outside and kicking me over and over during a little fit of rage (that she often finds herself in. Sort of a 2 yr. old PMS moment if ya get me)...
Anyway, I finally hit her little leg and said "Now that is enough! Stop it right now, Elaine."
She continued to cry, no harder than she was before our encounter only this time she was sobbing and added the words...
"I love you mom. I love you mom. I love you mom."
...All the while with her eyes closed. She's delirious I tell ya. haha.

It's beautiful here today and the kids and I spent a good while outside this morning. A good while equals the amount of minutes we can be out without one of our faces getting scorched by the sun. So...30 maybe. haha. But really it's gorgeous.

Here is the recipe for the DELICIOUS Applesauce BBQ chicken that I made 2 nights ago!
1 Chicken breast half with 1/3 cup of sauce = 308 calories!
You cant beat that and remember it's SUCH good protein!
Ingredients:
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (6 oz. each)
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
2/3 cup chunky applesauce (I didnt use chunky)
2/3 cup spicy BBQ sauce (I used honey bbq and it was still great)
1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
1 tsp. chili powder ( I didnt use this either)

Directions:
Sprinkle chicken with pepper.
In a large skillet, brown chicken in oil on both sides.
In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients
Pour over chicken
Cover & Cook 7-10 minutes longer

Let me know if you try it! It was a favorite in our house!!!

Prayers that all goes well with Daniel process.

That chicken looks delis! And the fewer the ingredients the more happy I am. I will have to try this soon. I have everything but the chicken breast!

I have to laugh at your posts on Nora. She and Ry seem so similar in attitudes sometimes it kills me. Yesterday it was "Your not my best friend anymore!" ha. Oh, and it was ME saying "I love my kids, I love my kids, I love my kids"... seriously :)
