Happy Birthday Uncle Jake!

Happy Birthday, Buddy! We love you so so much! My baby brother.
The one who was born when I was 13 years old.
The one who still dances and shakes his body like he can't control it.
The one who stole my heart.
This boy changed my life when he was born 12 years ago.
I adored him from the second I spotted his smudged up little nose.
He's still as cute to me as he was the day he was born.
I can't believe he's 12.

He's such a good boy. He reminds me so much of myself. He has strength that runs so deep yet can be so very sensitive. He loves with everything he has and never turns away a stranger. He will do big things in his life, and I'm positive he will credit them all to his Maker, much like I do.

He's a great football player. He's adjusting well to public school. He still adores, Daniel, after all this time. He giggles with my children and makes them cry. But he's a great Uncle. I am so incredibly proud of him!
Read today's letter to Jake here.

Today is a nasty, rainy day in central Illinois. We have flash flood warnings and it's so dark and dreary all I want to do is curl back up in bed. Daniel is off today which is a nice change. He's been working so much and his body is sore. Nora & I slept in late in our room while Daniel and Braden got up around 8. It's been a wonderful lazy morning in our house! I have no indoor projects that I want to conquer so I do believe that during nap time we'll spend time cuddled on the couch catching up on my shows. Well, maybe that's what I'll do. Daniel will surely play his guitar or pump some iron. After all, he never has time to do it. cough. cough.

We are taking Jake to dinner tonight for his birthday and tomorrow is his bowling party. The kid's have never been bowling so I'm excited to see how they do. I'm sure they'll love it!

It's a slow month around our parts. We're planning on having a Halloween party but havent decided what day quite yet. I need to be thinking about it a little harder if I actually want it to happen. We did get Halloween costumes the other night, but I'll keep you in suspense a little longer before telling you what we're being this year.

I decided not to take the picture taking job at Sears.
Daniel's mom may be getting a job at any time and I don't want to put more stress on myself trying to find someone to watch the kids just for a night or two of work when I could just continue doing what I'm doing...which is staying home with them and enjoying these little moments of madness that keep me young and full of life.

Abby is going to be having Scarlet soon and Felicia, Alex and the kids are moving home with a new baby in a couple months as well. I want to be free to help them as much as possible. They're going to need some extra hands, after all.

Speaking of babies here is a list of all the people in my life having a new one soon:
Abby--to be induced Nov. 18th.
Felicia--Bella will be here in November as well.
Ashley--Having a baby boy! Shawn.
Jennifer--Having a little girl! Jenna Lou.
Bethany, Lindsay, Whitney. And I'm probably (surely) forgetting some!
They're everywhere!!!
Please keep these ladies and they're babies in your prayers. I'll keep you updated as they all progress. We love you all!
