Happy Monday & A Giveaway!

Hi friends!
I have been rather absent from my writing lately, but with good reason. I mean, we are decorating fools these days! Busy hanging garland, busy hanging greens, busy hanging, hanging, and more hanging!!! The house looks gorgeous and I'm rather excited to open it up for all to see. It's been a lot of work and alot of fun. I'll have lots of pictures to share as soon as the tour is officially over, so even though things may be slow around here in the next few days, I'll pick back up next week with lots of new posts...and pictures!

But for today I wanted to do something special for one of my readers and friends.
One of my good friends from the Marine Corps, Brittany, emailed me a few days ago and asked if I'd be interested in giving away one of her new scentsy items. She's trying to build her business, so of course I obliged!
If you havent heard of scentsy, it's like the newest, greatest business. Compare it to PartyLite or Pampered Chef. It's a huge craze right now! Visit www.scentsy.com to find out more!

So here's what you need to do for a chance to win a great prize:
Simply leave a comment telling me what you're favorite "memory smell" is and why.

For instance, I can smell this certain body spritz and immediately flash back to my first pregnancy with Nora. Daniel can wear a certain cologne and I feel like the first night he kissed my forehead. I can smell a candle and remember a certain meal that I made or the smell of a restaurant that haunts me because of an embarrassing situation. I can smell my Nanny's sweatshirt and it stops time. I literally jump back into her embrace.
My favorite holiday smell is anything warm, like apple pie or baked cookies. Although last year my friend Janene bought me a candle called, "sleigh bells" and it's delicious!

I will announce the winner this Thursday, December 3rd. You have 3 days, so think about your favorite smell and do share! Can't wait to hear from you!

my favorite memory smell is Love's baby Soft.... when I was a tween and later a teen it was the scent I used to wear. Fresh, clean and oh so innocent smelling, lol. Combined with the great smelling shampoo called Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific and my Bonne Bell Strawberry Lip Smackers, I was definitely a teen of the late 70's early 80's. Whenever I see it in a drugstore, I still have to spray some on from the tester. My daughter will be 8 soon, and I can't wait to introduce her to Love's. Hopefully she will enjoy it just as much as I did, even though it is much harder to find nowadays.

OOOooh, this is really hard for me. I associate a lot of memories with smells. I think all women might be like this ???? One of my favorites is the Johnson and Johnson lavender bedtime lotion. I have used it on both children. I am still using it on Scotty at 16 month, and I just inhale his little neck every chance I get! I also love the smell of Michael Jordan cologne! It reminds me of my 16 year old crush, who eventually became my Hubby. I also love the smell of snuggle softener and dryer sheets as it reminds me of our home. What a fun contest - thanks!! Cannot wait to see photos of your house! When is your first doctor's appointment?

Thank you for doing this for me Ramee!! I would like to share a favorite smell myself (though I'm obviously not in the running for the giveaway ;))...I love anything warm and yummy smelling. It feels like home to me when I smell something sweet that is baking! It reminds me of when I used to stay at my Nanny's house when I was younger and my parents were at work. I also love the smell of Burberry Perfume (though I don't remember which kind exactly, I think Burberry London), my roomate my freshman year in College wore it all the time and it brings back happy memories of us beginning our frienship (she is still one of my best friends) and making it through boot camp because that was while Andy was away and she helped me through that time by keeping me busy. I love that certain smells trigger such strong memories and emotions for people. ♥

I went on a Mission Trip to India in February of 2005 and brought along Brown Sugar Fig everything from Bath & Body Works. It has been discontinued so I ration what little I have left to take me back to a precious time I grew in my faith and truly saw the face of God and the precious people of India.

I have to say one of my favorite memory smells would be Brut, which my Dad wore to church on Sundays. Everytime I smell that cologne, I think back to when I was a little girl and my Dad would carry me around the church shaking hands and greeting people.

Hey Ramee!!

CONGRATS ON NUMBER 3!!!!!! I am super excited for you guys!!!!

My favorite scent is this old lady perfume called "Primo". I love it because my mom and my grandma always used to wear it, and they would spray themselves heavily in it right before we would walk out the door to go shopping, or out to lunch, or something fun together. Everytime I smell it I immediately think of them, and I'm filled with the excitement that something fun is about to happen!!

I think I have a few favorite smells!
The one that is the quickest to remember is the smell of lady stetson (the perfume)... it is the smell that my grandmother used to wear. Every time I smell it I close my eyes and I swear she is standing here right next to me!
Another smell which I can't really explain what it smells like because it is the smell of outdoors and at their home.. for some reason when I walk their property it's like she's right there with me. It is a smell I can't describe. But I feel at peace knowing that's where she lived where she took care of her home did laundry, cooked for all of us. She was an amazing servant and had such a servants heart. It's a smell I hope to always smell! Praying that when my grandpa passes away the house/property stays in the family so I can just go over there and remember those sweet memories that I have of both of them!
