Praying for the Hood.

"Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy."
--Psalms 130:1-2

My husband served in the Marine Corps for 4 years. He lost friends to distance, battle and other tragedies during his time in active duty. Today, whether he is actively serving or not, his heart is breaking. And so is mine.

Today at Ft. Hood Army Base there was a tragic shooting which resulted in the death of American military personnel by one of their own. Reports are not finalized, or at least from what I have read --but nevertheless I wanted to take time out of my everyday life to express our deepest sympathy to the families and friends of those involved in this horrific act. I am beyond disgusted and in such disbelief.

Please take time to pray tonight as well. Let's intercede for those that need such deep love and comfor tonight.
Only God. Always Only God.

Lord, please be near.
Hear our cries for mercy tonight on the families of those affected by today's shootings. We know, God, that you are the Lord of love. Send your unchangeable peace to be round each person who was involved or affected by this horrible situation. We know, Father, that you are not caught off guard. You are a God who knows every detail of the day and of the night. Thank you for wrapping your arms around those who will be conducting any further investigations and thank you for always protecting our president and those making decisions regarding our country. We know that after everything ugly in this world fades away, you are still the God who rules it all. Remind us of that tonight, Oh God.
