Friday Night Concert.

Romans 12:2
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

When I was pregnant with Nora and we were living in North Carolina, just the two of us, Daniel & I talked about many things that we wanted to do as we parented our growing children. We decided early on that we wanted our kids to be a part of the things we enjoyed. We didn't want to not do those things, or not include our children when we did do them. We went to concerts alot when we lived far from home. Local Christian bands would perform and we would go. Bigger name Christian bands would come near, and we would go. My belly would jump as Nora heard the bass and the drums from inside of me. And we enjoyed making her a part of those special times with us.

It has been much more difficult with two little ones to get out and do all that we desire. So when an opportunity comes when we can take our kids to hear worship music in any way, we jump at it!
Last night we took the kids, and Uncle Jake to our friend's church in a nearby town. There was a free concert with 2 really great worship bands. It was a great time to be able to get out of the house as a family, let the kids run free in the midst of worship and be together doing what we love to do....

The kids danced, and I enjoyed seeing them in the presence of God. I think it would be a true shame to miss an opportunity to experience God in such a powerful way simply because you're uninterested or other plans were made. After all, we are the adults and our children's parents. It is our responsibility to show them what is good, pleasing and perfect to God. So, we made no other plans. We focused on the Lord and enjoyed an awesome Friday night that I believe our kids will remember for years to come.

Psalms 150:1-6
"Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! ..."
