Mother's Day.

The proverbs woman is many things.

But today, I long to focus on my effectiveness as a mother, the way it is mentioned in these scriptures.

"She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
"Many daughters have done nobly,But you excel them all."
Proverbs 31:27-29

This woman is effective in managing her home. She is praiseworthy, and she is distinguished. As a mother, it would bring me great joy to be known for any one of those qualities.

Here is what I do know.

God gave me a wonderful husband who just happens to be my best friend.

That man gave me everything I ever hoped for in giving me my children.

Nora made me a mother.

Braden made me a better mother.

Mabel makes me an eager, hopeful, excited mother.

Here is what Mother's day looks like in my world:

A couple redheads dressed in outfits that they feel confident in, acting crazy and wild as usual. I woke up this morning at 10:15 to a house that was quiet and a baby inside of my womb who had the hiccups. I have never felt more blessed and more special.

There is new life blooming inside of me. To say I feel 'motherly' or 'maternal' is an understatement. I feel overwhelmed with the responsibility of life all around me. I look at these children and realize that everything I ever wanted is right before me. Being a mother is the best gift I could have ever received and although not always easy, I never take a moment for granted.

I have a wonderful mother, a great mother-in-law, a wonderful grandma on earth and one in Heaven and even a great grandmother who is still living. The women and mother's in my life astound me and I am forever grateful for their instructions and teaching. I have learned so much through them and can only hope to grow with them for many years to come.

In my world, every day is Mother's Day.

Today the amount of love I feel just gets acknowledged by the rest of the world.

And I am thankful.

To all of you who just became mothers--I am so proud of you & happy for you!
