RockTheSquare pictures.

Our town is lame.
The young kids are always complaining that there is nothing here for them to do. And then when there is something pretty amazing going on--very few people show up.
God did.
And that's what matters, but it's still disappointing.
I can't lie and say I'm not completely frustrated with the churches in our small town. We have hundreds of teenagers who are supposedly involved in youth programs in other churches. Our youth pastor was in contact with them about Rock the Square and yet none of them turned out.
It's a shame.
However, I am in awe of the teenagers in our church. They are dedicated to God and working for Him. It's amazing and I can see the Holy Spirit at work in their lives!

Anyway, what we did have was...
lots of help...can you spot me?
Free water, cheap food and hot workers...
Dedicated prayer warriors and speakers...
Good friends & soon to be babies...
Uncles who played with redheads...
Daddy's who worked 'security'...
Babies whose faces were way too red...

Babies who ran from 9 month pregnant mommies...
...lots of laughter...
sweet shirts...
Bands who love God...
...and Rock out for Him...

What we did have were people whose hearts on set on fire for God. Who sought Him and asked Him what it was He wanted them to do for our town. When God responded, so did they. And they will be blessed for it. I pray they don't feel discouraged today.
God showed up. He did His part. And we did ours.
That, in itself, excites me!

"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward and that the Master you are serving is Christ."
Colossians 3:23-24
