raising redheads

Raising redheads has never been so sweet. Right now we are sitting outside in the shade as the day heats up and so do we. The kids helped me clean the house for awhile this morning and it was quiet. Still.

Mabel woke up with a rash and I'm not quite sure why. I don't know if it could be from her med levels or if it's because of new soap or a different fabric from the vest we tried in therapy. What I do know is that it isn't from a new food. I'll watch her--but it's just one more thing to think about.

I'm going to try to enjoy this day for all it is. The yard looks plush and green. My yellow lillies spread wide open this morning and even our orange patch is starting to bloom; a new one every hour it seems. This time excites me! I love the fresh, newness that the garden quickens to my memory. It's exhilarating to my spirit.
Daddy has the weekend off and we're thinking of making a zoo trip. Or maybe to the water park. Or maybe just being here; together. All I know is that today feels good. The sky is blue and the redheads are imagining. Mabel is stretching, smiling and holding her toes. The Lord is near. I can feel Him even when I can't. He is my refuge.
Please pray that Mabel's rash would go away and be nothing alarming. Enjoy your weekend of sun, friends. I know we will.
