welcome, colbie!

My cousin, Suzy, had her first baby last night.  A little girl named Colbie Nicole.  She looks beautiful in her photos and I can't wait to see her.  It's making me so emotional because almost one year ago I delivered our sweet girl.  It was a day that I'll never forget.  I bonded with her immediately and knew that there was something special about her.  Seeing Suzy's baby reminded me of how amazing it was to be a mom for the first time.  Nora was so special and I adored everything about her {much like I still do} only now she's bigger and I can never go back to those baby moments with her...

I prayed for Suzy all day yesterday as she was in labor.  It can be so scary because as we all know, anything can happen.  But she was a trooper and within 12 hours, she was holding her sweetheart.

Suzy and I were best friends when we were Nora's age.  She was older and I always adored her.  I am thankful that the kids will grow up with one another.  That's pretty special.  I know she'll be a great mom and I cannot wait to watch little Colbie grow!
Congrats Mike & Suzy!  We love you and are so blessed by this new little girl!

We visited Granny yesterday.  She has a birthday coming too [the day after Mabel's].  She will be 94 years old.  That is incredible, isn't it?  She enjoyed seeing the kids although they were completely wild.  Braden told her he just wanted to go up in the sky with Jesus.
Yeah.

Busy week ahead:  Therapies, meeting with a nutritionist for Mabel, a repeat EEG for her seizures, appointment with the Neurologist, scheduling a repeat test for her ears.
Just when I think that our 'big appointment' will be the last for awhile, I check the calendar and remind myself that it's never gonna be the end.  We'll always be doctoring this girl somehow, I'm afraid.

But rejoicing in today.  This day when new life is being celebrated and we can be thankful for the abundance that the Lord pours out on us.  We are so unworthy and it humbles me that I get to be part of something so great; with Mabel and with the other children in our lives.  It's amazing.

Hope your weekend was as wonderful as ours.  Despite a sunburn and some exhaustion, it was absolutely perfect.
