Last night Harper practically climbed on top of Mabel to hug her.
She lets her kick her in the face. She lets her flailing arms rock her in the jaw.
She is a rock star for her best friend.
And her mom is for me. It's about the greatest gift you can get; a best friend.
Things with Nora have been hard. Her attitude has gotten hard and she says things that are so disheartening and frustrating. I'm at a loss with her but am trying to plug along and be patient.
I know harder days are coming. I can't believe she's even old enough to talk back to me...
We have started making some of our favorite family staples for summer food.
Last year we had some sort of pasta salad for what seemed like every meal.
Anything that is colorful, fresh and bird-like is good for me.
Tip: Make a simple boxed pasta salad. You'll probably only need mayo.
Then add whatever fresh veggies sound good to you.
Cool and enjoy.
Quick && Simple.
Mabel's very last tooth is holdin out on us. It came through but then her gums swelled back over the top of it again. She is grinding her teeth more and more each day.
I'll be so happy to see a mouth full of teeth, all in their place.
Tell me about you and your best friend. [leave a comment here or on our facebook page.]
What types of things do you do together?
Do you have an inside joke?
What do you love about him/her?
These two watch Blue's Clues together often.
Harper and her "Bud."
God knows what he is doing when he brings best friends together. I met my best friend when we were in high school- she is the opposite of me- she is strikingly beautiful, loud and dramatic.
We lived together in college and a few years after until she got married- we were maid/matron of honor in each other's weddings. We were typical silly girls in our twenties- and we have millions of inside jokes.
Now, in our 30s, we live an hour apart, but still talk almost every day. And we BOTH have special needs kids. Our conversations aren't so silly anymore.
She is my best friend, my sister. I can't imagine life without her.
